Recently some of my songs reached the semi-finals of the prestigious 2008 UK Song Competition. One of them 'Heal My Pain' almost made the finals. My collaborator, Melinda Marshall (based in Vancouver Canada) wrote the lyrics for the songs previewed here. I also write my own lyrics and have written nearly 200 songs. I trained in classical music and soon realised that I loved song writing and formed a rock band playing keyboards for several years. We had a big local following in Surrey, often playing London gigs at the Mean Fiddler. I wrote many of the songs that the band performed which were always well received by audiences. A record producer Steve Nye was impressed with the songs, but the band members had different musical ideas and split up. I'm now writing songs which I would like other artists to perform. I am looking for a publishing deal and write mainly Pop, Rock, Ballads, Jazz and Soul. I also write atmospheric instrumental music for film and TV. Some of this was used successfully as mood / intro music for lectures a few years ago in Edinburgh for the International Science Festival. I think melody and meaningful lyrics are so important. I am currently inspired by Will Martin and Josh Groban and other crossover artists and I am writing some new material in this style. Influences: Elton John, Take That, Will Young, Genesis, Manic Street Preachers, Keane, The Killers, Duffy, Adele, Michael Buble and Jamie Cullum. I respect many songwriters including Roddy Frame, Paul Carrack, Guy Chambers. Many thanks for taking the time to review my songs. If you would like to hear more, please leave your details. 5. Sticks and Stones  Pop - catchy. In love, torn apart by conflicting emotions, consumed by the battle

6. Planets  Pop / Soul. Unsure if the person you love feels the same. Has room for several harmonies so may suit vocal group
